THE CRYSTALS
The Crystals were an all female New York singing group comprising Barbara Alston, Dolores "Dee Dee" Kenniebrew, Mary Thomas, Patricia "Patsy" Wright and Myrna Girard. Contracted to Phil Spector's Philles label the girl had their first hit with "There's No Other (Like My Baby)" followed up by Cynthia Weil's "Uptown" and flop "He Hit Me (And it Felt Like A Kiss)".
Their track "He's A Rebel" was recorded through LA based Phil Spector by Darlene Love and The Blossoms and released under the name The Crystals. This was because the New York quintet couldn't get down to LA to record the track in time for Spector.
