Seal
Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel aka Seal is one of the few British artists to have success at home and across the Atlantic, in the United States. He has achieved platinum status across the western world, with the help of super producer Trevor Horn (formerly of Buggles fame); Seal would cement his place as one of the most interesting and innovative singer/songwriters of the early 90’s.
Seal was born in February 1963 in Paddington, London. He was born to parents of Nigerian and Brazilian descent. Shortly after his birth, Seal was put up for adoption due to his biological parents inability to deal with the financial burden of raising a child. In his early years Seal studied electrical engineering, architecture and held various jobs which included working at McDonalds. While in his teens Seal became interested in music and joined various bands, but it was not until he met house producer Adamski, that his career really began to take off with the hit single “Killer”.
'Killer' went to No.1 in the UK singles chart for four weeks selling 400,000 copies and skyrocketing Seal to superstardom. After the success of “Killer” Seal signed for ZTT Records, owned by Trevor Horn and his wife Jill Sinclair. Seal’s debut album produced the Hits ‘Crazy’, ‘Future, Love, Paradise’ and ‘The Beginning’; the album went to No.1 in the UK album chart and went platinum in the US. His sophomore album ‘Seal II’ went four times platinum in the United States in part due to the success of the song ‘Kiss From A Rose’; in 1996 ‘Seal II’ won the Grammy for Record of the year and ‘Kiss From A Rose’ won the Grammy for song of the year.
In 2004 Seal and supermodel Heidi Klum got engaged, despite the fact that Klum was pregnant with the baby of F1 impresario Flavio Briatore. Seal stayed by Klum throughout the pregnancy, which certified Seal as a media darling. The couple have since had two additional children and married in 2005.

Seal currently tours throughout the world including Brazil, Japan and The US amongst other places. Although his music is not as successful as his period of dominance in the 90’s, Seal continues to record for his loyal fan base all over the world.
