The Small Faces were a key band of the sixties, recognised then as now as hugely influential on the musical development of the time as well as on the progression of pop culture, particularly Mod.
ROCK 'N' ROLL LOVE TRIANGLE
I was married to Eric's close friend, George Harrison, but Eric had been making his desire for me clear for months. I felt uncomfortable that he was pushing me in a direction in which I wasn't certain I wanted to go.
But with the realisation that I had inspired such passion and creativity, the song got the better of me. I could resist no longer.
Stone Roses
The roots of the Stones Roses delve right back to 1980, with their first LP ranking one of the greatest debut’s of all time, their influence casting a shadow over many Brit-pop bands in their wake.
However, edging slowly into 80’s Manchester, a scene dominated by the likes of The Smiths, Primal Scream, and Boddingtons’s Beer, it was difficult to win the affection of wily ‘Dr Martins’ sporting mancunians. Quivering with our haircuts, and oversized trench coats, we almost seemed unsure. They had a long haired bass player for one, and a singer partial to wearing leather trousers? It almost seemed untoward.

In 1984, after an off-putting show in front of The Who’s Pete Townsend, at Hampstead’s Moonlight Club as part of an ‘Anti Heroin Benefit,’ the band took on the assistance of manager Howard Jones, and finally after many broken records, released their debut album in 1989 amidst the perplexity of the ‘Madchester’ movement. A gratifying blend of Slaughter and the Dogs, The Clash, and George Clinton, the album was defended vigorously amongst mixed reviews, as it plunged into the UK charts, eventually landing them a lucrative deal with Geffen Records.
Great music, always, seeps through the holes of such nostalgic prejudice, soon it was dubbed perfection for post-club comedowns, they were nor accepted or rejected, paving way for a timeless conclusion. However, in 1994, a disappointing follow-up ‘Second Coming’ and many disastrous festival appearances, spelled the tragic end to a band, who after several line-up changes, never really got to grips with acceptance. In 1996, vocalist Ian Brown issued a press release, stating; “Having spent 10 years in the filthiest business in the universe, it is a pleasure to announce the end of the Stone Roses.”

THE WHO
The Who are an English rock band formed in 1964 by the original members Pete Townshend guitarist, Roger Daltrey on vocals, John Entwistle on bass and Keith Moon on drums. They were renowned for their energetic onstage performances, sold over 100 million records, according to New York Times and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
The Who first attracted attention through their amazing stage shows in United Kingdom, the release of the top ten hit singles including "My Generation" and five top albums in 1965 including "I Can't Explain". Success followed in the US with “I Can See for Miles” which was a top ten hit in 1967. The Who continued to have massive success in the US with a series of top five albums including Tommy (1969), Quadrophenia (1973) and Who Are You (1978). After Moon’s death in 1978, the band released another two studio albums Face Dances (1981) and It’s Hard (1982) before calling it a day.

The band continued to perform together at events such as Live Aid and for their 25th Anniversary tour in 1989. Plans to record a new album were delayed with the death of Entwistle in 2002, however Townshend and Daltrey continue to perform as The Who and saw the release of the studio album Endless Wire in 2006.
