Bobby Vee
Bobby Vee is an American pop music singer was born as Robert Thomas Velline on 30th April 1943. Vee has had 38 Hot 100 chart hits, out of which 10 were in the Top 20. Vee’s album, “Take Good Care of My Baby” released in 1961 reached No.1 in the US and No.3 in the UK and he recorded a number of international hits, “Devil or Angel”, “Rubber Ball”, “More Than I Can Say”, “Run To Him”, “The Night Has a Thousand Eyes” and “Come Back When You Grow Up”.
As Bobby was trying to make it, he put his pen to paper to write his first single 'Suzie Baby' which nodded towards Buddy Holly's 'Peggie Sue'. Which is sad since Buddy Holly passed away a short time after the song was released. Bobby Vee was a close friend and he went on to dedicate his album after the accident to his name. Bobby stated at the time, 'For some time now, I have wanted to make an album in tribute to Buddy, but I wasn't sure it was the proper thing to do. However, during the past year, I have received many requests to do such an album. These requests came not only from my fans and from DJs, but also from Buddy's loyal following---still a large group of devoted fans. It.... gave me the confidence to do the album. From "Suzie Baby" to this present album, I have made many records, but I have never forgotten Buddy Holly and his influence on my singing style and my career.'

Vee was a pioneer of the music video genre and appeared in several motion pictures. He was inducted into the North Dakota Roughrider Award in 1999. His first UK hit came from a cover of Adam Faith’s “What Do You Want?”.
