Corby metaller’s Raging Speedhorn formed in 1998, and consist of John Loughlin (vocals) Frank Regan (vocals), Gareth Smith (guitar), Tony Loughlin (guitar), Darren Smith (bass) and Gordon Morison (drums).

The sextet named themselves Raging Speedhorn (I’ll let you look up what that means…), and shortly recorded two demos with Roddy Stone, now of Viking Skull, and were granted a record deal with ZTT Press. A third demo and positive write-ups in the rock press started to spread the band's name. In July 1999, Raging Speedhorn supported Ministry in London and a support tour with earthtone9 followed in November.
The band continued growing, with support slots for Will Haven, Tribute to Nothing and Kittie, which were fitting in around the recording of their self-titled debut album. In July 2000, Raging Speedhorn played their first headline UK tour.
They were afterwards granted major support slots supporting Biohazzard and Amen, and in May 2001, Raging Speedhorn were one of the opening bands at UK Ozzfest. In June, their new single ‘The Gush’, entered the UK Top 50.
Their second album, ‘We Will Be Dead Tomorrow’, although delayed by a year, received great reviews. Tony Loughlin was then replaced on guitar by Jay Thompson, and they made a return to the studio to record their third album, 'How The Great Have Fallen'.
On 25 March 2008 it was announced the band was to split after a final tour.
